뭐야, 그럼안돼 !!!

도달하고자 하는 목표나 달성해야 할 목표에대해 그것을 이룩해야할 이유가 무엇인가요,

왜 그 목표를 달성해야 하는가 하고 질문을 하면 이에대한그들의 대답설명을 들어보면 그가

그 목표를 달성할 수 있는지 없는지 성공 여부를 거의 정확하게 예언할 수 있다, 아니 거의

적중시킬 수 있다. 많은 사람들에게 그들이 추구하고 있는 그 목표를 왜 달성해야만하는가를

물어보면 거의 대다수가 대답을 하기 전에떠듬적거리며 더듬거리다가 묻는 바로 그 순간에 그

이유를 만들어 내어 어물쩍 떼우는 대답이 누구에게나 거의 비슷한 일반적인 사례다.

예를들어 사람들이"나의 목표가 1년에 10억을 벌기다"라고 말할 때 왜 그와 같은 액수의돈벌기를

목표로 했지요라고 물으면 한참 뜸을 들인 후에야 겨우 "어 어 어 ... 뭐 그냥 사람들도 좀도와 주고

싶고 많으면 좋찮아요 그래서.." 비록 적중시키는 예언을 하는쪽집게달인은 아닐지라도 이 사람이

그 목표를 달성할 수있는 확실함은 거의 희박하다.

동일한 질문에 또 다른 대답을 볼 수도 있다. 질문을 하지마자 기다리기라도 한 듯이 "난 부모님을

오래동안 모시고 살아 왔는 데 이젠부모님 당신네들께서어느 펜션에서나 조용한 전원 같은 곳에서

따로 사시기를 원하신다오, 그러나부모님 당신들에게는 그럴만한 충분한 금전적 재정적 물질적여건이

않되니까 부모님이 거처할 집을 장만하고 또 돌보아줄 사람과 모든 것을 마련할려면 꼭 그 금액을 만들어

야만 하고 또 나 자신도정년 퇴직 후 아내와 홈카를 마련하여 전국 여행이라도 다니며 여생을 즐기려면

일년에 그 금액은 꼭 벌어야 해요" 난 확신할 수 있지요 이런 류의사람은 꼭 해야할, 필히 달성해야할

분명한 이유를 아주 구체적으로 가지고 있기에 불타는 끈기 있는 불굴의 열정으로 그 목표를 달성할

충분한 기회를 가질 수가 있지요.

아직도 하시고자하는 일에 "왜"라는 이유를 찾고 계신가요, 아님 아예 추구하는 꿈에열정을 느낄 뜨거운

이유가 없으신가요, 그것도 아니면 내세우실 아무런 목표가 없으신가요.그러하시다면 성공을 누리심에는

무리수가 있으실 것입니다. 아니 그보다 열정을 일으킬 아무런 이유없으시면 일상적인 그런 류의 일로

인해 실패로 다가갈 확율과 기회가 위험 수위를넘게 될 것입니다.

I can almost predict a person's success in achieving a goal after hearing them describe "why" they want to reach the goal. It's amazing the number of people who have told me they wanted to do something and when I ask them "why," they stammer and stutter before giving some answer they made up on the spot that is so generic it could apply to anyone.
For instance, when people have told me they wanted to earn a million dollars a year and I ask them "why," the answer is something like: [long pause] "uh, uh, uh, well, I want to have a lot of money and, uh, uh, uh, well, I want to help a lot of people." I would not have a high degree of confidence in predicting that person would accomplish their goal.

On the other hand, if I could have asked that question and gotten this kind of answer, "[no pause] My parents are getting along in years and they really don't want to end up living in a nursing home.They don't have the finances to make that happen but with a million dollars a year in income I would have enough financial resources to hire round the clock help to watch over them in their own home.At the same time, that type of income would allow me to take early retirement from my job and fulfill a dream I've always had to buy a motor coach and travel to each of the 50 states."
I would give that person a very good chance of meeting their goal because they know why they want to achieve the goal and it's very, very specific.
