120일에서 170일이 소요될 바람과 파도를 거슬러는 항해를 72피트의
요트로 다음달 2일 영국의 포츠마우스에서 출발할 것이라한다. 지금까지
논스톱 단독 항해는 프랑스인이 세운 122일 14시간 3분 49초라는군요.
또 다른 영국 여인은 내년 7월에 비슷한 항로를 계획중이라고.카프리
여인은 지난해 세계일주 지구도전 시합에 참여했다는군요.

Woman goes against wind in sailing atempt

LONDON - Dee Caffari will try to become the first woman to sail solo around the globe - against the prevailing winds and currents - in next month's Aviva Challenge.
Caffari, 32, will begin her journey on Nov. 20 from Portsmouth, England.
A former teacher, Caffari will sail a 72-foot yacht, with the circumnavigation expected to take between 120 and 170 days. The world record for a non-stop solo circumnavigation against the winds and currents is 122 days, 14 hours, 3 minutes 49 seconds held by Frenchman Jean Luc van den Heede.
Another British woman, Debra Searle, has announced plans to attempt a similar journey in 2006-07.
Caffari competed in last year's round-the-world Global Challenge race.
"I've got a pretty good idea of what to expect having sailed the same route last year with a crew of 18," Caffari said. "But the real test is going to be facing these challenges completely by myself."
